Commercial Office Space Renovation

Prium was instrumental in working with DSHS on its office space needs in the White Center/Seattle community by purchasing and renovated a former Safeway building in White Center. The renovation to the White Center/Boulevard Park Community Building was a broad community partnership that involved DSHS, Prium, the Annie E. Casey Foundation, and local government, business, faith-based, educational, non-profit and community groups.

The building houses a DSHS Multi-Service Family Resource Center and allowed the State to bring together multiple health and human services under one roof. This is a benefit in that the facility is now serving some 16,000 low-income clients in the White Center and Boulevard Park communities.

While DSHS and other state divisions occupy the building's second floor, community-based organizations that serve families and retail businesses occupy the first floor.

The development of this community resource allowed DSHS to achieve needed savings in administrative costs, especially those associated with leased office space and to integrate community services to better serve neighborhoods and families.
